Later that year the missing links were finished and the full Purple Line, from Whitefield in the east to Challaghatta in the west, began running from 9 October 2023, a total of about 42.85 km, according to Deccan Herald.

- Short auto or cab ride to Whitefield (Kadugodi) station, around 1.6 km.
- Board at the start of the line, which usually means an easier seat.
- Ride west along the Whitefield IT corridor stations, or change at Majestic for other lines.
- Return in the evening and pick up groceries near the junction.
For people working in the Whitefield tech parks, ITPL is about 15–20 minutes by road anyway. Our IT parks nearby article covers those routes.
Why metro access helps value
Homes close to a working metro line tend to stay in demand, because they appeal to both owners and tenants. With the line already running, buyers at Phase 2 don’t have to wait for future infrastructure to enjoy it.
Phase 1 launched in March 2025 at ₹9,300 per sq.ft and is listed today around ₹10,000–10,300 per sq.ft. The expected Phase 2 price is about ₹10,000–10,500 per sq.ft, all-inclusive and indicative. More on this in our investment article and on the price page.

Planning a visit by metro

Bring the family along so everyone gets a feel for the area, not just the person who’ll commute the most.

Last-mile tips for residents
The 1.6 km gap between home and station is easy to cover, but it’s worth planning. Autos and app cabs are common around Hope Farm Junction, and many residents in larger communities also set up shared rides or a cycle routine for the short hop.
Phase 1 amenities reported by portals include a cycling track, so cycling might already be part of life for some families. On cooler Bengaluru mornings, a brisk walk to the station is pleasant too, honestly. Over time, as Phase 1 and Phase 2 together bring a few thousand residents, demand for regular last-mile options tends to grow.
- Keep a metro smart card or QR ticket app ready
- Check first and last train times for your route
- Plan a backup cab option for late evenings
